Monday to Friday - routine surgery runs between 8.30 and 11.00am for doctors.
The doctors are in surgery between 3.30 and 5.30pm. Additionally the practice will be open until 7:30pm on a Monday evening for Long term condition appointments and some treatment room appointments The doctors request/expect that other than in emergencies (or if a doctor is away on holiday) patients try and see their own doctor on a routine appointment. A third GP is available to discuss urgent medical problems. Please note that patients are only seen by appointment.
Between the hours of 8.00am and 6.30pm emergencies are dealt with by one of the five doctors of this practice. Outside these hours and at weekends, the CCG is responsible for providing emergency care. If you have an urgent medical problem which you think may need the attention of a doctor, please ring the surgery number 01427 619033 between 8.00am and 6.30pm.
If you need urgent medical help between 6.30pm and 8.00am you can ring the Out - of - Hours Medical Service on 111. If you have trouble getting through, ask the operator to check for faults on the line. If the problem is very urgent, ring 999 for an ambulance.
Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
The unit at John Coupland Hospital is nurse-led and is open between 8.00am and 8.00pm for assessment and treatment of minor Injuries e.g. cuts, burns, limb Injuries etc. The unit does not have an attached doctor on site and cannot treat on-going medical problems.
