PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP (PPG)
Our group is made up of several volunteer patients, the practice manager and the GPs from the practice, who meet on a regular basis to discuss the services on offer, and how improvements could be made for the benefit of the patients and the practice.
A PPG can play a number of roles, including:
- Advising the practice on the patient perspective.
- Communicating with the wider patient body.
- Carrying out research into the views of those who use the practice (and their carers).
- Influencing the practice or the wider NHS to make improvements.
All patients are invited to put their ideas forward to the group so that we can discuss them with the practice team for consideration.

Our most recent initiative was to help reduce waiting times for appointments – we found that an alarming number of appointments are being missed (217 in October). Other patients could have taken these appointments if the surgery had been informed – so PLEASE let the surgery know if you are unable to keep an appointment.
